"During the first ever Jack of Hearts Foundation Fundraiser on September 1, 2007, my friend Alicia approached and said, "Open your hand." Into my hand she poured two crumpled dollar bills and a lot of loose change, totaling $3.50. "What is this?" I asked. She explained that her boys, Donovan, Finnian, Roan, and their friends, Evan and Ashton wanted to contribute to the JOH Foundation. Earlier that day they made and operated a lemonade stand to raise money. All went well, until it started to rain, and then began to pour. They stayed. In the rain -- determined to help.
