Heart Corps 100
What is "The Heart Corps 100"?The Jack of Hearts Foundation proudly announces the creation of "The Heart Corps of 100." This corps of volunteer families (we're seeking 100 families but hoping for even more!) affected in any way by either Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome or Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome will join the Jack of Hearts Foundation in reaching our goal -- a CURE for single ventricle heart defects. While standing alone we are powerless, together we can make a difference in the quality and longevity of our childrens' lives.
How will the "Heart Corps 100" work?
We are asking each "Heart Corps" family to raise $5,000 over the next twelve months on behalf of the Jack of Hearts Foundation. If 100 families each succeed in raising $5,000, together we will have raised $500,000 towards the funding of five major research studies in 2008! These studies seek to develop new surgical techniques and treatments aimed at improved medical management of single ventricle defects.
How should the money be raised?
$5000 can be raised through simple fundraising efforts that can include the assistance of young family members: a bake sale, a lemonade stand, a garage sale, or a car wash. The whole family can organize a fun run/walk or bike race. Adults can host a cocktail party or silent auction. The Jack of Hearts Foundation can help you come up with fundraising ideas and strategies.
Help us by becoming a Heart Corps 100 family.
Please contact Tracey Bryan at tracey.bryan@jackofheartsfoundation.org if your family wants to help rocket forward single ventricle research.
