Well on July 26, 2002 we were informed that Michael had a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. We had no idea what it was. Michael had his first heart surgery, the Norwood at Johns Hopkins Hospital on July 30, 2002. Michael did extremely well and went home for the first time on August 12, 2002.

When Michael was 7 months old and had his second heart surgery (at Hopkins) the Bi-Directional Glen. He was in and out of the hospital in 7 days. We were all so proud of him. On October 9, 2003, our world came to a crashing hault once again.

Well Michael the strong little man that he is faught his way through it. After three years of chemotherapy and long long hosptial stays, he is cancer free. Michael has been in remission for a year and a half now.
